even brighter than the moon

my new favorite song is firework by katy perry
i am inspired by the following lyrics:

You don't have to feel like a waste of space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane, comes a rainbow

Maybe the reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it's time you know

You just gotta ignite the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the Fourth of July

'Cause baby, you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "ah, ah, ah!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

our snowy narnia

it was the longest hour at willowbend
waiting in line to meet santa in his narnia themed snowland
brock was "spirited" as we waited in line
then luke got hungry
and we seemed to not be moving for a half hr
i was ready to leave but then we reached the room of falling snow
and it was so ethereal it was worth the wait
then the boy met santa and gave him a hug
and we got the best picture ever with brock and his baby reindeer brother
i am glad we persevered
here are some moments from that hour

postpartum groove

i do pregnancy well
i never get sick
i love the bump
i never complain
i get lots of compliments from joe

postpartum is a whole other story
it is emotional, irrational, hormonal, stressful
even with cute babies!
so here's to me getting my groove back and feeling better physically and spiritually
here are some images inspiring me lately and making me feel crafty

everyone needs a star crown!

one more inspiring quote:
we have a secret in our culture,
and it's not that birth is painful.
it's that women are strong

the legend of ox

the other day i found a piece of paper with middle names
i had collected for luke
we always knew we would name him luke simply because we loved the name and thought it went well with brock but it took awhile to find the right middle names
here is a sampling of that list joe and i had randomly compiled:
grayson
vince
rocco
blake
holden
landon
george
and then there was
ox
how did that get on the list?
we love strong names but that seemed a little extreme
we both laughed and i placed the paper in luke's keepsake box
then today when it had become clear that not only will luke be a big baby
but also one that causes false and strong contractions for his mum and might possibly be overdue
joe simply stated over lunch:
"that will be the legend of ox"
and finally we had a nickname for him
we won't take it to the extreme and make people call him that
but it makes a cute story nonetheless
and very appropriate

strong valiant brave

here is luke's room
the paint is behr twilight gray
and the starting off point was the
cow that jumped over the moon
rug and painting purchased in portland before i was expecting another baby
i adore all the fabrics i chose and added some yellow to balance out all the blue-gray
i am now taking a break from crafts but i always have ideas up my sleeve
and will carry on after luke's arrival

baby luke,
we can't wait to meet you

you take your time i am patiently awaiting your grand entrance to the world,
i can't wait to kiss your squishy cute face and have you meet your big brother

you are already strong valiant and brave
and we love you
