learning to knit

so here it is
it is a lil messy but it is a start
last night at my needlework group
a few sweet ladies assisted me in the
art of casting on and the knit stitch
i will keep practicing.....

feeling nautical

it has been too hot to blog
too hot to go outside
too hot to walk to the park
inspired by a picture in cloth magazine
i sewed a sailor collar
i liked it so much i made one for luke!
it is not too hot to sew
or go to starbucks

we even got some pictures of joe's beard!
i just love them

and here is my first baby bootie-just need to crochet his mate
they will be perfect for luke's little feet

feeling better

i am feeling much better
phew what a relief!
i am getting out more and crafting up a storm
i have been crocheting, creating peter pan collars,
sewing fabric covered hangers, embellishing tote bags,
preparing paper for a scrapbook for luke,
joining interest groups, thinking positive thoughts,
daydreaming, reading, organizing, and
all the while taking care of the family!

i think i can do anything
so I will go ahead and do just that

and no the irony is not lost on me that there are 3 tents in the above picture
perfect for someday
some things i will do now and then there are some things i still plan to do when i am 40(ish)

i am a drama queen sometimes

sorry about that last post!
i can be a bit melodramatic
that was even too much for me to reread
my life is currently potty training
and tantrum outbursts
not the plague
i have a lot to be thankful
so lets focus on the positive like this picture
pure delightfulness

life isn't always rainbows and unicorns and butterflies
maybe we have to experience bad times
so we can appreciate the good times

beautiful spring

spring has been absolutely lovely round here
perfect weather
it is hard to stay indoors so we go for numerous walks
around the neighborhood and to the park
and we play in the front yard as well
i even got some floral rain boots
one day i will make this delightful cake
