bessie pease gutmann

I love her artwork!
She had a way of capturing the innocence and wonder of babies and children.
Bessie lived from 1876-1960 and she attended the Philadelphia School of Design for Women; the same school Jessie Willcox Smith had attended ten years earlier. She started her career with commissioned work and was later inspired by her own children Alice, Lucille, and John. I found this particular print and it reminded me of someone so close to me......

sigh

Today Brock got his darn cast off.
Sigh.
I am relieved but he is not allowed to put weight on that leg so no pulling up!
Good luck with that.
I am going on a small vacation with Joe and Boo to Georgia! Savannah!
Here are some pictures until then from a new blog:
Beautiful things to share.
Lovely.
Sigh again.

P.S. Thank you Traci-for dropping everything and helping me this week when I needed it! You are a true princess.

cutest broken leg ever

Sometimes accidents happen.
Darn it all.
The last thing I want to see is bebe sad or hurt.
But he took it all in stride like a boy whose name is BROCK!
The surgeon proclaimed that he had earned that name!
B was a such a trooper and not at all the crying mess his mum was.
How did we get so lucky to have a boy with such a wonderful disposition?
I will admit seeing the cast that first day was so depressing.....
But we have bounced back.
He still gives me that sweet smile with the cutest 7 teeth ever.
and his hair is so soft.
and he has the silky, smoothest cheeks.
We are currently on our second cast which is blue (more masculine) because little BooBoo slid out of his first one.
silly boy.
